About Register Me In
A course workspace built for instructors in higher education. It brings attendance, office hours, group activities, and student follow-up into one place, and it keeps growing with the tools instructors need.
Why it exists
Teaching comes with a lot of administration: taking attendance, scheduling office hours, organizing group work, and following up with students who start to fall behind. Each of those usually lives in a different spreadsheet, inbox, or form. Register Me In puts them in one workspace per course, shared with your teaching assistants, so less of your week goes to admin and more of it goes to teaching.
It started with attendance. New tools are added as instructors need them, and each one joins the same workspace rather than becoming another site to learn.
What it does today
For instructors
Take attendance your way: mark the class yourself, or let students check in with a code, QR, their device, or location.
Publish office hours once; students book or join a waitlist, and meetings land in your calendar.
Run sign-ups for presentations and labs, and form groups automatically or from your own list.
Set attendance policies once; reminders and follow-ups reach the right students, held for your review when you want.
See trends and who needs attention in the class overview, with every record change explained.
For students
Check in to class and see your own attendance record, nobody else’s.
Book office hours privately and get calendar invites.
Sign up for activities and see your groups.
Request an excused absence and follow its decision.
For teaching assistants
Work in the same course workspace as the instructor.
See and do only what the instructor granted, course by course.
How your data is handled
Your role in each course decides what you can see. Students see only their own records. Every attendance change is checked by the server and kept in an audited history, with who made it and when. Location is asked for only when a student checks in, and raw coordinates are not kept. The sign-in, sign-up and password-reset forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated script, is submitting them; it reads technical signals from your browser for that check only and does not set advertising cookies.
Opening from Canvas
Return to your Canvas course and choose Attendance or Course Tools in course navigation. Canvas signs you in — never enter your Canvas password here.
No Canvas at your institution? Everything works without it — sign in directly.
For administrators
LTI 1.3 launches are checked for issuer, deployment, signature, audience, state, nonce, time, course, and role before a server session is created. Generic LMS support depends on the services and scopes the institution approves.
Instructor-marked attendance needs no special hardware. Rotating QR codes, device check-in, Bluetooth proximity, browser location, classroom challenges, notifications, and calendar connections appear only once the deployment has set them up.
